My love for houseplants started when I moved overseas in 2019. I love the big city life, but it can lack a little greenery when you compare it to my home country of New Zealand!

All of a sudden a global pandemic hit, and I began spending A LOT more time inside. Craving a bit of nature, and feeling the sudden urge to make my house a home, I suddenly found myself surrounded by what can only be described as a small rainforest.

I was keen on something a little more unique than your classic 1.5m fern called Ken, so I searched far and wide until I found the newly named Alfred & Julia.

I was surprised at how tricky it was to find more unique plants without leaving the house, so I set about creating The Plant Society – A place to find well cared for plants that are a little different, as well as your everyday Ken’s, and get them delivered to your door hassle free.
